In this tutorial I will show you how to install Jupyter. I will use self signed certs for this example.
This assumes your hostname is “hadoop”
Prerequisites
Python3.5 Installation
- sudo apt install python3-pip
Update .bashrc
- sudo nano ~/.bashrc
- #Add the following
- alias python=python3.5
- source ~/.bashrc
Install
- pip3 install jupyter
- jupyter notebook --generate-config
- jupyter notebook password
- #ENTER PASSWORD
- cat ~/.jupyter/jupyter_notebook_config.json
- #Get the SHA1 value
Setup Configuration
- nano ~/.jupyter/jupyter_notebook_config.py
- #Find and change the values for the following
- c.NotebookApp.ip = '0.0.0.0'
- c.NotebookApp.port = 8888
- c.NotebookApp.password = u'sha1:1234567fbbd5:dfgy8e0a3l12fehh46ea89f23jjjkae54a2kk54g'
- c.NotebookApp.open_browser = False
- c.NotebookApp.certfile = '/etc/security/serverKeys/hadoop.pem'
- c.NotebookApp.keyfile = '/etc/security/serverKeys/hadoop.key'
Run Jupyter
- jupyter notebook
